Ground Beef and Sautéed Cabbage

1 lb ground beef
1/2 head of cooked cabbage (when I buy a head of cabbage I usually use half for a coleslaw recipe and lightly wilt the other half with salt and pepper over steam on the stove top and freeze for a future recipe)
6 whole diced carrots
1/2 diced yellow onion
1 red or yellow bell pepper diced (optional)
tsp pepper
tsp salt
tsp garlic
1/8 cup butter, oil, or left over bacon grease- don’t judge me : )

Brown onions in your oil of choice in a stew pot and add seasonings and beef and cook until browned. Add vegetables and 1 cup of water. Cover and cook on low 30 minutes or until carrots and peppers are tender.
