Fresh Salsa

2 plum tomatoes
1 inch slice onion
2 tbsp fresh cilantro
1/2 squeezed lime
2 cloves of garlic
Optionally half jalapeƱo

Food process or chop and leave overnight for maximum deliciousness.


Italian Dressing

1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp or less salt


Hamburger Sauce

This hamburger sauce is a combination of ketchup, mustard, and balsamic dressing. If you thin it out with more water it makes a great salad dressing!

Hamburger Sauce:
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup prepared mustard
1/4 cup olive oil
2 Tbsp onion powder
2 Tbsp tomato paste
2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 Tbsp garlic
1 tsp salt
Tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp fennel
Pinch cayenne
Pinch cinnamon

Homemade Mayonnaise

1 cup olive oil*
1 egg
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp mustard powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp onion
1/4 tsp garlic

Add egg, vinegar, and mustard to blender and turn on while continuously drizzling olive oil SLOWLY. The first time I tried I should’ve had more patience and I ended up wasting an entire cup of oil! It will start to thicken and should take 5 to 10 minutes to pour all of the oil in. You can add the seasonings to taste, these happen to be ones I have found to taste best. Refrigerate for up to one week. It gets better after it has cooled completely.

*virgin olive oil can have too strong a flavor for mayonnaise so you may want to stick to regular olive oil.


Spicy Mustard Dressing

This dressing recipe came from trying to switch my old favorite BMT sub into a salad. Here goes:

1/3 cup olive oil
2 Tbsp yellow mustard
2 Tbsp white vinegar
2 Tbsp italian seasoning
2 Tbsp onion powder
tsp pepper
tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp garlic
1/2 tsp salt
